Join me this July to dive deep into movement therapy, bodywork, as well deep sensing work to come into embodiment of our essence. This immersion will take place at the beautiful Mala Dhara Eco Resort amidst expansive rice fields and rolling hills, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Moving from Within
“Yoga begins with listening. When we listen, we are giving space to what is. We are allowing other people to be what they are, and we are sanctioning our own bodies and our minds to fully manifest. Yoga also begins in the present moment” ~ Richard Freeman, The Mirror of Yoga
A journey into the inner senses to uncover our own physical and subtle mind-body mapping, bringing to our consciousness the way we inhabit in our environment and respond to elements and people around us. We will unearth the treasure trove of our innate healing through breath, movement, bodywork, meditation and self inquiry.
This will be 2 x 50 hours immersion for yoga practitioners, bodyworkers, movers, dancers, coaches, caregivers... anyone who is looking to understand the pathways of connectivity between the body, mind and spirit.
The embodiment approach in this immersion will shine a light on our habitual but sometimes unconscious neurological patterning that manifest into how we breath, our holding gait, and our reactivity to circumstances. These are manifested through pre-dispositions, deep seated patterns, and years of conditioning. Bringing together mindfulness based techniques with somatic tools, we can gain more clarity into our own emotions and behaviour as an embodied biological process, this will enable us to live and move with greater ease and grace.
Experience the functions of embodiment through movement, breathwork, yoga therapy applications, traditional Hatha Yoga practices, visualisations, vocalisations, self inquiry and bodywork. Be EMPOWERED to access your own transformation and healing. You will also be able to apply these tools in teaching yoga or movement, self-care, or in offering bodywork to support your clients and your loved ones.
When we explore from within through a sensory rather than cognitive approach, our mind can de-clutter and re-wire towards a moment-to-moment presence in wellness.

The Embodiment Approach
Embodiment transcends all genders, all ages, all conditions. This work promotes wellness and self-care through a body-centred, sensory approach to learning. It focuses on the premise that the body is shaped by the mind, and that the mind can be reshaped by the body (neuroplasticity) - vis-à-vis the nervous system - to effect body chemistry, digestion, immune system and energy levels.
This is not a one-size-fits-all go-to approach. It is work for the curious, the inquisitive and the courageous. What is it like to let go of old beliefs that do not serve, to completely embody our true essence as a living spirit, to be a human-BEING instead of a human-DOING?
"Between stimulus and response there is a SPACE.
In that SPACE is our POWER to CHOOSE our response.
In our response lies our growth and our FREEDOM"
~ Victor Frankl

"I am so glad to join my first teacher training with Daphne, she is a marvellous teacher and has deep profound knowledge about the history, philosophy, culture, spirituality of yoga and movement. I definitely would like to join her teacher training again next year!"
- Tiffany Sim, Engineer, Malaysia
"I acquired a great deal of knowledge in a great location! Daphne is extremely knowledgeable, and she is great about sharing this knowledge in a fun and easy to grasp way. It was the perfect length of time and the training was taught with a positive and dynamic energy. I would love to learn more from her in the future! And the location - Mala Dara - was gorgeous! Thanks Daphne for including me in the training! Look forward to seeing what comes up next!"
- Shanon Fox, Yoga teacher, Koh Samui
"Daphne saved my back! I met Daphne when she was supporting a training I was attending in February. Daphne came to my rescue on day 3 of a 15 day training. Unfortunately due to a recent injury to my SI joint (3 months prior) and an ill timed adjustment by another trainer, my still fragile sacro iliac joint had again been over stretched. Daphne, seeing my distress and pain offered to help, she was so gentle, supportive and understanding of my situation.
She took the time to explore the injury and provide a "gentle" massage which with her advice, suggestions and hands that seemed to magically find and soothe the injured area provided me the opportunity to finish my training with little discomfort. Daphne is a natural in the heart of yoga, she clearly loves what she does and in turn gives confidence and support to those that train with her."
- Lori Kelley, Yoga teacher & Sonographer, UK
"Daphne is a gem and if you have been looking to work with an experienced highly effective yoga teacher, Daphne's yoga therapeutics is amazing. I went on her retreat last summer in Laos, the place is breathtakingly beautiful, the group was fabulous and Daphne was, as always, so generous with her time, attention and dedication.
- Nadja Vartany, Yoga teacher, Singapore
"Daphne is one of the most talented, articulate, loving yoga teachers I have ever met. I highly recommend any training that she is doing"
- Mary Baseler, Studio owner, Australia
"My experience from the immersion was eyeopening. Over the past years, I knew that i was not doing something right, but could not figure out what it was. Daphne identified the specific misalignments in my body and guided me into finding them. She articulated very well in how bodies are supposed to move, what habits are good to maintain to keep the body healthy.
I can already feel that my musculoskeletal structure changing and my joints are better aligned. Before the course, I used my body parts to do Yoga, trying to fit my body into the asanas. Now I am using Yoga to keep my body aligned, with healthier and better positioning for the different part of my body. I have had many issues with tilted pubic bone, twisted spine, knee pain and feet pain, but they are better now with right movement pattern. It also brought me a positive effects for non-yoga activities. I enjoy the occasional social dancing, and I can feel that my posture has improved, and my body and legs are not as tired and achy as before.
I believe that continuous practice, awareness and mindfulness are the key. All the best and thanks again for your insights and dedication."
~ Yoko Yamoto, Japan
